Course Description

The Cardiac Catheter Laboratory is committed to training interns to provide the highest quality of non-invasive cardiac procedures at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSH&RC) in a highly specialized patient-centered hospital environment. Cardiac Cath Laboratory is the focal point for diagnostic tests and treatment procedures including ablation, angiogram, angioplasty and implantation of pacemakers / ICDs.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this training, the trainee will be able to:

Explain the fundamentals of cardiac physiology
Recognize the structure of the heart and its anatomy
Establish rapport with staff and develop good work ethics
Perform diagnostic cardiac imaging and handle related equipment
Acquire clinical skills proficiency
