Course Description

This program aims to train participants in performing embryo biopsies and preparing samples for Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) laboratories. By the end of the training, participants will be able to grade embryos, perform zona pellucida drilling, use micromanipulators and micro-tools, select appropriate instruments for biopsy, and understand the steps involved in Days 3 and Day 5 biopsy, including loading cells into PCR tubes for PGD analysis.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this training, the trainee will be able to:

Determine the role of embryologist in the Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD).
Perform grading of embryos on Days 3 and 5.
Perform zona pellucida (ZP) drilling step on Days 3 or 4.
Recognize the micromanipulators and micro-tools.
Select suitable instruments (micro-tools) for biopsy.
Explain all the steps of days 3 and day 5 biopsy including loading the cell into
