The Immunology and Infectious Disease Serology Training Program is designed to equip trainees with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to perform a variety of immunological, serological, and electrophoresis techniques essential for disease diagnosis. This comprehensive program delves into the fundamental principles of antigen-antibody reactions, including precipitation, agglutination, ELISA, chemiluminescence, and fluorescent antibody technologies. Trainees will also learn to apply these immunological techniques specifically in diagnosing bacterial, viral, parasitic infections, and immunological diseases.

By the end of this training, the trainee will be able to:

1. Relate the basic principles of antigen antibody reactions, precipitation, agglutination, ELISA, chemiluminescence and fluorescent antibody technology.
2. Demonstrate immunological techniques in the diagnosis of bacterial infections, viral infections,
3. Parasitic infections and for immunological diseases.
4. Compare and contrast various techniques of laboratory assessment for host immunity.
5. Demonstrate the basic principles of protein electrophoresis in both serum and urine and describe the methods applied to detect monoclonal gammopathy.
6. Interpret the results of protein and immunofixation electrophoresis and relate results with associated disease conditions
