Description

The Nutrition Services Department is committed to train interns to deliver the highest quality of care in a highly specialized hospital environment to all patients. The duration of training will be 12 weeks with six rotations during which the intern shall be exposed to different specialties e.g. Adult, Pediatric and Oncology Sections for both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this training, the trainee will be able to:

Identify patient's diet and medical history
Perform nutrition assessment
Identify patient’s nutritional diagnosis
Accurately document nutrition note in patient’s file
Instruct patient and family on proper diet / supplement usage
Calculate patient’s nutritional requirements
Discuss nutrition status / plan with the medical team
